LYNN MCKENZIE CLINICS
At a clinic, we are teaching our particular style of running barrels, and we are working with students and horses at all levels of their barrel racing. At an Advanced Clinic, we like to have horses and riders who are already in competition and are looking for how to shave off those tenths and even hundredths of a second. We have had students and horses of all abilities at both types of schools who have made a great deal of progress. There are green riders and/or horses up to finished riders and/or horses. There are some who come to clinics each year just to get a yearly "tune up" or to work with a younger horse on the Lynn McKenzie method. Then we have riders at Advanced Clinics who bring less experienced horses just to see where they really are in their training and what they need to concentrate on as they continue their training. So there are lots of variables and lots to learn at either type of school. "So which one is best for me and which one should I try and come to?" Reread the above and them be honest with yourself about what you are wanting to do. Pick the one that best suits that. We honestly believe that everyone should attend both types of schools. You must have come to at least one clinic (or more is even better) before attending an Advanced Clinic. Since we concentrate on techniques at a clinic, those who already understand the techniques find it easier to grasp the information at an Advanced Clinic. At these, we are concentrating on finding the exact position each horse needs to be in to run what is the optimum pattern for him (or her). The information taught both in and out of the arena is geared more specifically to those riders who are either just starting on the road or who already are hauling. "Now I am more confused and unsure about which one to come to?" "I wouldn't want to come to the wrong one and look silly or waste my time." As we said earlier, we teach a tremendous amount of information at either type of school and NEVER berate or ignore a student for whatever level they or their horse are at. We will do our very best to tailor our instruction to the level EACH horse and/or student is at. So if you come to an Advanced Clinic and really should have been at a regular Clinic, we still are going to do our best to give you as much as possible. And if you are at a Clinic and really were ready for an Advanced Clinic, because we gear our level of instruction to where the student is, you still receive a very quality teaching. At either type of school, our most frequently heard comment is, "I learned more the first day than I have at any other school I've ever attended." Or possibly, "I got more than my money's worth on just the first day." The most important thing is that if you don't come to one or the other, you can't learn what you need to know. We have had students who have gone to the NFR after attending our schools and that is an important thing. But, relatively speaking, since only a few ever get an opportunity to haul for the NFR, most of the barrel racing world needs help at the level they are at now. That is our goal. To give you the VERY BEST instruction possible and for it to be at a level that will help YOU PROGRESS TO YOUR OWN INDIVIDUAL GOAL, at whatever level that may be. Remember this, to us, YOU ARE IMPORTANT!!
