Great exercises to teach your horse how to move his shoulders. These are the movements you and he will need on the regular cloverleaf barrel pattern.
1.) How to set up the pattern. Includes a drawing showing you how to measure out and set up the pattern. 2.) Detailed instructions on how to maneuver your horse through the 6 barrels. 3.) Different types of exercises for the 6 barrels. We use the "6 Barrel Exercise" in our training routine quite a bit. It is especially good in training a young horse. Also helps our older horses stay flexible and keeps them supple. Being able to control the shoulders will help you to get your horses to go "straighter, longer" and not drop their shoulders in the turn. Learning arcing and counter-arcing, shifting your weight in the saddle, proper hand positioning, all are techniques you can develop while not souring your horse on the cloverleaf pattern. We would even recommend keeping the "6 barrel pattern" set up all the time in a separate area if you have room to do so. This would allow you to spend time each week working your horse to keep him flexible. The "6 Barrel Exercise" is a great addition to your training library. All this for only $15.00.
